Book now for the 12th CRNS Annual Conference and drinks reception with host Fred MacAulay and special guest Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform which is taking place in the prestigious Perth Concert Hall on Thursday 3 November 2016 .
The CRNS Annual conference this year will focus in particular on the importance, quality and extent of the activities our members are involved in across Scotland. There is an absolute abundance of vital and much needed activity at community level and our conference intends to showcase this as we look to engage and develop real and long-term partnerships with the private and public sector. Our conference, “The Voice of the Sector – The Vision of the Members” will demonstrate and engage in a manner that will leave those attending realising even more how important the collective activities of our members are, as we strive to encourage stronger communities to be at the heart of a thriving Scottish economy that puts local people first.
The conference will demonstrate how our members contribute across Scotland to a more circular economy where waste is minimised and how communities can be further supported by the effective management of the waste stream. A great deal more can be achieved and the conference will look at the potential longer term impact and positive outcomes that can be achieved through consortiums, hubs, zero waste communities and from the potential impact of future initiatives such as extended producer responsibility schemes. The Schools Challenge will feature again this year with the successful schools presenting their winning ideas to conference delegates, and being awarded their prizes.
The annual CRNS conference is the dedicated Third Sector event for Scotland’s reuse, repair and recycling sector and the perfect networking opportunity for members, supporters and organisations in our sector and the wider third sector community in Scotland. CRNS is very grateful for the financial support received from Zero Waste Scotland that will allow this conference to engage with members and stakeholders to take the voice and the vision of the sector to the next very natural level.
