CRNS AWARDS DINNER 2016 – OH WHAT A NIGHT! The CRNS Awards Ceremony and Dinner took place on Friday 29 April 2016 in Edinburgh’s luxury 5 star landmark hotel The Balmoral. Guests arrived to a sparkling drinks reception before taking their seats for a delicious 3 course meal and evening of inspirational speakers. The Awards Ceremony showcased the 12 CRNS members that were shortlisted from a pool of 49 nominations, and recognised each of their individual achievements within 4 separate award categories – Innovation, Sustainability, Partnership Working and Community Engagement. As David Wood, CEO of CRNS, took to the stage to give an overview of the awards process and then announce the winners, there was a real buzz of excitement. David invited each of the award sponsors onto the stage to present the winners with their respective trophies, a beautiful bespoke award hand crafted in oak by the Grassmarket Furniture Project, Edinburgh. Announcing the Winners! Kudos Software’s Marketing Director Sarah Dodd had the pleasure of presenting Elaine Williamson and Stephen Kane of Recycle Mobility Centre with their award. Recycle Mobility Centre, based in Clydebank, is a unique not for profit social enterprise that collects second hand mobility equipment, intercepting many on their way to landfill. They are then refurbished and sold on at affordable prices to disabled and elderly people who desperately need the mobility equipment but could not afford to purchase these new. The impact of welfare reform and matters around pensions have also made such a service even more essential. The Recycle Mobility Centre also provides a leasing service, access to spare parts and a follow up affordable repair and maintenance service. The Recycle Mobility service is the first social enterprise in Scotland
