Additional eligibility criteria for INCREASE Small
Organisations must have a turnover of £150,000 per annum or less. Any material stream is eligible as long as the intended service is not considered a core Local Authority activity.

Aims of INCREASE Small
INCREASE Small is specifically designed to provide speedy intervention to encourage new ideas and build capacity. This could be in the form of developing new services or extending existing work via the purchase of capital equipment, but regardless of the content of the application it must demonstrate clearly –

  • How many new tonnes of materials this activity will  diverted from landfill
  • How the grants represents value for money
  • What the social, environmental and economic impact of the grant will have

Timelines
INCREASE Small opens to applications on Thursday 1st April and closes on Friday 14th May 2010.

If the full budget is allocated in the first funding round NO second round will run.  Only if there is unallocated money still available will a second funding round run which will open on 1st June 2010 and close on 30th June 2010.

Deadlines
Successful applicants to INCREASE Small must pull down the full award amount by 28th February 2011.  No funding will be available after this date.

Condition of Award
All successful applicants must complete an end of project evaluation report within 3 months of all funding being pulled down.  Non-compliance with this condition will result in the CRNS taking action to recover the funds.
