Thanks to Celebrate Lottery Grant funding CRNS, Scotland’s national community repair, reuse and recycle charity, is hosting Pick it Up and Party – The Litterbug Games event. The Legacy 2014 initiative which is supported by Clyde1, The Grand Central Hotel, Central Station, YoungScot and Keep Scotland Beautiful, is a FREE fun event that has been designed to spread a nationwide message to recycle your waste ahead of the Commonwealth Games. It will take place in Glasgow on Sunday 6 July 2014 and the charity is currently inviting people to take part in this community event.
Commenting on the event, Mary McLuskey CEO of CRNS said: “Pick it Up and Party is seeking to use the enthusiasm for the 2014 Commonwealth Games to create a catalyst to promote our recycling message across Britain ahead of the games themselves. We are inviting representatives from our membership organisations, volunteers, organisations and supporters to register to take part so that together we can showcase a brilliant example of working together to improve our community recycling message ahead of the games themselves.”
Participants at the event will take part in a fun recycling Litterpick game in the city and will then be invited to party on with Clyde 1 at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow. All those taking part will receive tshirts and a free gift bag. The event starts at 10am and will be finished by 2pm and those interested in taking part should email Karen at CRNS on firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01786 469002. Please note places are limited.
“CRNS sees a future where there is no waste, only resources,” adds Mary McLuskey. “Where people, communities and the environment are loved, valued and respected. We hope participants taking part in Pick it Up and Party will share these values so that together we can spread the message to those visiting Scotland to please remember to recycle their waste.”
