Programme Trainer (salary £21,630)
Glasgow Wood Recycling, with funding by the National Lottery through the BIG Lottery Fund, seeks a programme trainer, for a two year contract (minimum), to deliver its innovative training programme.
Glasgow Wood Recycling’s “Making Wood Work” project supports those furthest removed from the labour market to overcome barriers to employment, and obtain sustainable jobs within both a social enterprise environment and within local businesses. Through a 12 week programme the project trains and support trainees to engage with job seeking services and local employers. The project supports and trains unemployed individuals in a range of woodworking, recycling and health and safety skills, improving prospects of employment by providing skills that will strengthen their links to the labour market. GWR also works with local employers to identify taster placements, work experience and employment opportunities.
Glasgow Wood Recycling is a social enterprise and charity established in 2007 and committed to reducing the amount of wood needlessly going to landfill by finding creative ways to recycle and reuse this valuable natural resource. Through these activities we provide volunteer and training opportunities to local people, as a practical way of tackling poverty and social exclusion.
